Volunteer RA Positions

Thank you for your willingness to volunteer in the Supporting Relationships and Wellbeing Lab! Working in this lab can be a lot of fun and you have the opportunity to gain unique first-hand experience in a multi-method lab involving video-recorded discussions, questionnaire data, and physiological recordings.

This type of work is very data intensive and time consuming. Thus, Dr. Girme asks that you:

  • are willing to commitment a minimum of 2 semesters and 10 hours a week. This is to ensure that you have enough time getting the right training, and have time to put that training to good use!

  • have completed PSYC 362 (Close Relationships) at SFU or a similar course at another university institution. This is to ensure you have the foundational knowledge about relationship theories and processes.

  • are able to attend our monthly REWE Lab meetings on the first Friday of each month from 10am - 12pm. This is an important way to connect with our lab members, gain experience presenting research during lab meetings, and take part in workshops to build important research skills.

If you are interested in applying, please complete and email the application form, along with a copy of your transcript to Dr. Girme (ygirme@sfu.ca).
